Cherish today - We have no way of knowing what tomorrow will bring!
How do you look ahead when you suddenly have lost your best friend, your husband of 44 years...Within 1 hour our lives have been changed forever.
We have weathered the storms and enjoyed the rainbows together.
Suddenly at home, Donald James Cann, my beloved husband, suffered an apparent heart attack .
Don and his twin sister, Betty Rose celebrated their 80th birthdays April 17 with a breakfast at Dimitri's in Cobourg.
Don is survived by his wife Pearl (Austin); 3 sons David Austin (the late Camille ); James Cann and wife Suzanne Amey; and Andrew Cann.
He is survived by 2 sisters Betty (Bev) Rose and Elva (the late Ray) Hanna; sister-in-law Phyllis Alls); daughter-in-law Natasha (Tommy) Wells; and his loving Grandaughters Chenise (Jason Molnair); Taryn (Zach Mangin) and 2 Gt Grandsons Kylar and Dorian Mangin. Also 2 special Granddaughters Marissa Wells and Alysha Munsaka - son Malikai.
Don was predeceased by his parents Bill Cann and Ruby (Graham), brothers Bill and George; and sisters Wilma (the late John Scott); Jean (the late Charlie Lyall); and Reta (the late Doug Courneya).
Cremation and private burial at Welcome Cemetery.
Donations to the charity of your choice.
Special thanks to the Port Hope Firemen with whom Don was a volunteer for 33 years; the Ambulance attendants, OPP, and Craig and Jamieson Ross of Ross Funeral Chapel; Dr. Mark Azzopardi and Stephanie Ross.
Our appreciation also to our family Valerie Austin, Helen Jarvis, Betty and Bev Rose, Natasha and Tommy Wells, and our neighbours Marg and Bill Cairns for all your support at this stressful time.
