Obituary for Alvin Peter Harris "Pete" Bumby
Peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, ON on July 14, 2017 in his 67th year. Born in Bronte before moving his family to Port Hope in 1987. Beloved husband of the late Colleen Bumby. Affectionately known to some as Sparky. Left behind to mourn are his daughters Sara Lauria (Bud) and Amanda Bumby. Beloved Poppy of Victoria (Christian) and Ethan Lauria. Forever missed by his canine companion Forty. Son of the late Alvin and Irene Bumby. Brother of Ann Striker (Gord), Mary Lou Walker (Pat), and the late Sue Irmisch Brown.
Thank you to all of Peter’s friends, neighbours and co workers for your support and kind words during this difficult time. Thank you also to Dr. Rothenstein and Julie at Lakeridge Health as well as Dr. Cameron and the team at Northumberland Hills Hospital including the Palliative Care Unit.
At Peter’s request, there will be no service. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be welcome. If doing so, please think of the staff, Nurses and Doctors at Northumberland Hills Hospital.
