Obituary for Douglas Wilfrid Bee

Douglas Wilfrid Bee
July 23, 1938 – September 4, 2017
On September 4, 2017 at his home, Doug went to be with his Lord and Saviour after a courageous struggle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, friend, and companion, Roma of 57 years.
Loving father of Mark (Maureen), Patti Wilson (Rolly), David (Ellen) and another dad to Susan Pickering (Paul).
Grandfather of Colin, Brock, Isaac, Michael, Rebecca, Madison, Logan, Sydney and Amy.
Doug grew up in Wesleyville – moving to Port Hope in 1975. He worked for CNR for 38 years with many memories and long-time friends.
Doug gave his life to the Lord in 1973 on his thirteenth wedding anniversary. He was an active and dedicated member of the Port Hope Gospel Hall for many years until his health gave out. Doug was an avid gardener and spent many enjoyable hours growing vegetables and flowers; always producing something different than the norm for this area. He did battle with the wild life that also enjoyed his garden. Neighbours will also miss his tomatoes and beans.
He enjoyed his coffee times with friends, old and new, and sharing stories of their times growing up. He did jigsaw puzzles when gardening season ended and looked forward to the daily paper for crossword puzzles in all seasons.
He and Roma explored lots of country roads over the years, seeing all the quaint little places.
He will be missed but not forgotten by many nieces, nephews, and sister-in-laws.
Doug’s family will receive visitors at Ross Funeral Home on Friday, September 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service at Ross Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 9th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Grace Church. In lieu of donations, the family asks that you do a good turn for someone else.
