The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Margaret Evans can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Obituary for Margaret Lois Evans (Quinney)

Margaret Lois Evans (Quinney)
Evans, Margaret Lois Grace (Quinney)

At peace on December 12th in her 85th year Margaret was reunited with her pack; Smokey, Max, Trottwood, Satchmo, Hobbes and Ben. Predeceased by brothers Howard, Cyril, Fred, Rich (Evans) and sister Bernice. Margaret will be lovingly remembered and missed by sisters Aida, June and Marie (Evans) many friends, nieces and nephews.

Grateful to have inherited her often macabre sense of humour Margaret will be deeply missed by her children Michael, Tara, Mathew, Michelle, Tim and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mikaila, Morgan, Ty, Scout and Rio.

Recently Margaret reflected that she had spent her life searching for something she could never define. Those who love her most believe, in death, came the knowledge that what she was looking for was inside her all along; strength, joy, LOVE.

At Margaret’s request there will be no funeral services, “everyone who came to my 80th birthday gets a pass so there would be low turn-out at my funeral”. In defiance her family will throw a party in her memory at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Essak and the nursing staff at NHH palliate care unit for their compassion, kindness and support.

In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting donations to Northumberland Hospice Care Centre: www.northumberlandhospice.ca or cheques to NHCC mailed to 15 Rose Glen Road, Port Hope ON, L1A 3V6 or visit rossfuneralchapel.com
