White, Joseph Lorne
Peacefully at Roseglen Village in Port Hope on May 4, 2019 in his 100th year. Beloved husband of Dorothy White (nee Cathcart) for over 72 years. Loving father of Peter (Linda), Robert (Barb), and Lori Sheppard (The late Eugene). Grandfather Casey (Mike Tsakok), Kerry (Melissa), Darren, Tanya, and Arika (Ryan). Great grandfather of Kai, and Lucy. Brother of the late Helen Cornish. Brother – in – law of Harley Cathcart. Lorne will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at Ross Funeral Chapel on Wednesday May 8th, 2019 from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m.
Lorne served with 407 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II as a Bomber Pilot. He flew over 1100 hours in a Wellington Bomber and was recently awarded The French Legion of Honour. He also served as a councillor for Hope Township and on Committee of adjustment. He spent the rest of his life happily farming.
