Donald Stewart Lawrence Sr.
Passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on Tuesday March 29, 2022 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of 64 years to Sylvia Viola Lillian Lawrence. Proud father of Donald Jr. and Karen (deceased). Youngest brother of Wilma and Ernest (deceased) and son of the late Albert Lawrence and Edith Young.
Donald (Don) grew up in Toronto and raised his family in Mississauga. He had a long and happy retirement in Wasaga Beach and had recently moved to Cobourg with Sylvia to be closer to their son. Don was forever young at heart, a big kid who loved nothing more than a dirty joke. He worked extremely hard at Canada Packers (now Maple Leaf Foods) for almost 40 years before retiring in 1995. With his gentle demeanor and kind disposition, Don made life-long friends easily. Those who knew him will fondly remember his unique squeaky voice. Most of all, Don will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband to Sylvia. Their 65-plus year relationship was admired by all who met them.
Don will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family and wonderful friends.
Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Perrytown on April 23rd at 1:00 pm.
Don Sr. and Karen will be interred together later this summer in a family niche in Wasaga Beach.
