Hamilton, Michael It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael George Hamilton (Mike) on April 24, 2025 at 72 years young. Mike was a loving husband to Margaret, a dedicated father to Shelley (Jordan) and Jessica (Daniel), and a proud "Papa" to his treasured grandchildren Nathan, Ryan, Noah, and Sofia. Caring brother to Pat (Gary), Paul (Ann) a special uncle to Mark, Angie, Jennifer, Jamie and a cherished friend to many who were blessed to know him. Those who knew Mike remember his generous heart, his steadfast loyalty, and the quiet strength he carried into every room. Whether offering words of wisdom, sharing a laugh, or simply being present, Mike touched countless lives with his kindness and unwavering love. His greatest joys were his family, his friends, and the simple moments spent surrounded by the people he loved most. Mike found freedom and joy in riding his motorcycle, and it was more than a hobby — it was a symbol of the independence and adventure that defined him. Those who rode alongside him will forever cherish the memories shared on the open road. His sudden departure leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his spirit lives on in the countless memories shared and the values he instilled in those he loved. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on May 3, 2025 from 4:30pm-8:30pm, at Port Hope Lions Recreation Center, 29 Thomas Street, Port Hope. All who loved him are welcome to attend and share their memories. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in his honor. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Linda Anne Bisson Sunrise April 5, 1947 and Sunset April 17, 2025 Linda Bisson (nee Hawley) passed away to the spirit world on Thursday, April 17, at the Venvi Valley Stream Retirement Residence in Ottawa, Ontario. Beloved life partner of the late Edward Bisson, who passed away in January 2023. Loving mother of Andrew Bisson (Sabina), Sarah-Lynne Redgers (Ivor) and Matthew Bisson (Rebecca). Linda was a very proud grandmother of Julia Pine Bisson, Colton Redgers, Delaney Redgers, and Eric Redgers. Dear daughter of Ernest and Margaret Hawley (nee White), both predeceased. Predeceased by siblings William (Marlene) and Roy (Evelyn) Haryett, and Ross (Mary), Doris (George) and Ruth (Doug) Hawley. Loving aunt of many nephews and nieces. Godmother to Natalie Bisson. Will be greatly missed by family, friends and community in Bancroft, Port Hope and Manitoulin Island, all in Ontario. She was well known for her infectious laugh, her warm smile, her outgoing personality, an unmatched work ethic, as well as a steadfast enthusiasm for life. She always put the best interests of others, especially her family, before herself. She had a sharp wit, and never seemed to lose patience with the constant height jokes she faced, standing a generous 4’11. Linda enjoyed a good book, watching sports with her family, and an occasional “splash” of white wine. She cherished her annual cottage getaway weekends with her cottage crew of friends from the Port Hope area. Linda was born in Toronto and was raised in Bancroft. She eventually made her way to Toronto for work, where an earlier missed train led to a fateful meeting with her eventual life partner Edward while on a train to London, Ontario, to see her brother Bill. Ed and Linda had a loving relationship for 46 years and we know they are reunited now (and of course she is a little late). Linda worked several jobs over the years, with a significant period as a ward clerk at the Port Hope hospital. While maintaining her job at the hospital, she had a second job as child care provider for the Lowe family just down Elgin Street, helping to raise Justin, Madison, Jacob and Elliott. She loved the children dearly and they loved her back. She eventually moved to M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, the home base for her husband. She made a number of friends on the Island, including Cheryl Stephenson, and relished the opportunity to watch her niece Cassandra Bisson and nephew Brian Bisson Jr. grow up. After the passing of her husband, she relocated to Ottawa to be close to her two sons and quickly became a popular resident of the Venvi Valley Stream Retirement Residence, joining her friends for bingo, day trips, and many enlightening conversations in the lobby mixed in with frequent laughter. Her family is eternally thankful for these friends, especially Jane, at the retirement residence that made the final 18 months of her life that much more enjoyable. Linda left an undeniable impression on so many people. To be around Linda was to know love. Friends and Family will gather on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Ross Funeral Chapel in Port Hope, Ontario followed by a celebration of life at 85 Elgin St. N from 2:00-4:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Linda’s name to the Canadian Addison Society at www.addisonsociety.ca.

Today we are with heavy hearts as we mourn the passing of Wayne Henry Fitzpatrick, who passed away on April 6th, 2025 in his 74th year. Wayne was the cherished, and loving father to daughters, Katie and Kara Fitzpatrick (Matthew Reid), the beloved grandfather to Ian, William, Lily, Robyn and Penelope. He remained the dear, long-time confidant to the mother of his children, Jean Fitzpatrick. Wayne also leaves behind beloved brother Garry Fitzpatrick (preceded Millie Fitzpatrick). He is preceded by parents, Sydney and Winifred Fitzpatrick, and sister Sandra (Fitzpatrick) La Belle. He enjoyed having many long conversations with his family, sharing his life stories and aged wisdom. He would often speak about his younger days on the golf course, time in the Laurentian Mountains, and spending many Sundays, after Mass in Montreal, at the home of his maternal grandparents with the rest of the Macdonald clan. Wayne dedicated his later life to his daughter's, and his grandchildren, creating so many beautiful memories for us to hold and cherish through these difficult times and for all our days. He loved to be by the water, whether it was by his pool listening to the morning birds or by the Lake at Golden Beach visiting with friends, neighbors and beloved family. He also very much enjoyed chats with neighbors around his long-time residence in Port Hope, ON. He was a proud citizen, Maple Leafs fan, and GM retiree. Wayne was also very proud of his recovery and enjoyed living a sober life. He never missed an opportunity to inspire others that they could do the same. A public service will be held to celebrate Wayne’s life, at Ross’ Funeral home, 135 Walton Street, Port Hope ON L1A 1N4 on Thursday, April 17th, 2025 at 11am. We want to thank all community members of Northumberland who supported him in his life and all those who are supporting us now, as we face this most difficult time. Wayne wished for a life of health, wealth and giving. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to one of the below charities in the name of Wayne Fitzpatrick. Diabetes Canada or to The Canadian Mental Health Association.
