Quigley: Mary Margaret (nee Plunkett) - Peacefully, with her family by her side after a long struggle with Alzheimer's, at Peterborough Regional Healthcare Centre, Tuesday, February 13th, 2007 in her 79th year. Mary Margaret Quigley, beloved wife of Wilfred of Port Hope. Loving mother of Susan Barclay (Peter), Marie Lytle (David), Patricia Quigley, Joan Semple (Patrick), Agnes Tose (Walter), Wilfrid Quigley (Kim) and Robert Quigley. Dear grandmother of Edward, James, Jennifer, Jaclyn, Sara, Kelly, Terry Rose, Andrew, Patrick and Christian. Great grandmother of Megan, Taylor, Nicholas, Presley, Joshua, Keira, Emma Rose, Logan and Xander. Survived by sister Isabel Casey (Arthur), sister in laws Kay Roy, Zeta Quigley, Else Woodstra, many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Wilfrid Plunkett (1972) & Jeannie May "Queenie" Turpin (1960). Friends are invited to call at the Ross Funeral Chapel, 135 Walton St., Port Hope, Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, Walton St., Port Hope, Friday February 16th at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Northumberland, the Rotary Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated and can be received at www.rossfuneralchapel.com Mary leaves a legacy of many years of community service; Secretary of the founding Board of Directors of Parkdale Community Health Centre in Toronto, years volunteering with Boy Scouts and Inner Wheel. Mary worked at the Parkdale branch of the Toronto Public Library, and at the local Port Hope Library. Many thanks to St. Elizabeth, the VON and the Emergency staff at the Northumberland Hills Hospital for taking care of Mom when she broke her hip and especially to the nurses at Hutch 4 at Peterborough Regional Healthcare Centre for filling her last days with such dignity and comfort.
