Obituary for Edward John Gould Noble, M.D., F.R.C.P.C.

Edward John Gould Noble, M.D., F.R.C.P.C.
Suddenly at home in the arms of his loving wife, Beverly (nee Bell)
Ted was the third generation of Toronto doctors. He had a full and joyous life, personally and professionally. He was born on June 19, 1931 in Toronto to Dr. Clark and Edith Noble. Ted was a most beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Bev, his five children: Mary (Philip Oliver), Karen/Dee Dee, Paul (Grail Hartdegen), Joanna (Tom Salter) and Crawford (Nanette Lang), and his grandchildren: Kate, Julia, Genevieve, Degen, Seton, Odelie and Edward. Ted is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Heighington and Sue Cameron, and lovingly remembered by his siblings, Patricia Carson and Winton Noble.
Ted attended the University of Toronto Schools (UTS). He graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1953 and he completed his post-graduate studies in Neurology and Cardiology in London, England and Toronto. As a young man, Ted served as a Surgeon-Lieutenant at the Royal Roads Naval College, Victoria, BC. In 1961, he obtained his Fellowship in Internal Medicine. Ted was an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and taught Cardiology at the Toronto General Hospital division of the University Health Network for thirty-five years. Ted was co-founder and director of the Cardiac Outpatients Clinic, TGH, as well as the Pacemaker Centre, TGH, and a founding member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. Throughout his extensive career, his abiding passion and greatest source of satisfaction was his active consulting practice in Cardiology and patient interaction.
Ted’s happiest times were spent with Bev and his children at his cottage in Go Home Bay. Here he was able to indulge in his hobbies: sailing, painting, guitar, fishing and ‘raconteuring’. It is Ted’s wish to celebrate his fine life on this beloved island in Go Home Bay.
In Ted’s memory, donations can be made through Ross Funeral Chapel, Port Hope www.rossfuneralchapel.com 905-885-4931 to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.
