Obituary for Valerie Smith (Aston)
SMITH, VALERIE ASTON BRAYBON. Born 14 February 1937 in Evesham, Worcs, England. Died in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, on 7 October 2017, after a long illness graciously borne.
Val was the loving wife of Stephen B H Smith and mother of Ann (Tauhid Rahman) and Jennifer (Luc Fournier) and the devoted grandmother of Leiya, Tasbih, Antoine, Charlotte, and Nayeem. Predeceased by her first husband Ken Braybon (1971) and by her son Adrian Smith (1989).
There will be a celebration of Val's life at 11 am on Monday October 16 at St Mark's Anglican Church, 51 King Street, Port Hope, followed by interment in the church yard. All guests willl be received at a reception immediately following in the church hall. The Family would like to thank the entire staff of Extendicare Port Hope for more than a decade of compassionate care. Particular thanks to Barb Helmer for her dedication and love.
